Rhode Island bars receive COVID-19 compliance orders

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Rhode Island’s COVID-19 Enforcement Task Force has taken action against four Rhode Island bars for failing to comply with a range of public health directives.

The COVID-19 Enforcement Task Force works in collaboration between the Rhode Island Department of Health and Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation.

Three of the four bars to receive compliance orders are located in Providence.  7 Sisters La Cachimba Hookah Lounge, Tres Letras Hookah Lounge, Fish Co. Bar & Grill all received Immediate Compliance Orders.  Pregame Lounge in Cranston was the fourth bar to receive a compliance order.

Inspectors noted that these businesses violated numerous business guidelines including bars being accessible past 11 p.m., mingling customers being served at bars, failure to maintain separation and employees and patrons not wearing masks.

All four bars are closed pending meetings with the Rhode Island Department of Health and the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation.

These establishments will be required to keep contact information for guests, screen employees and guests for COVID-19 symptoms, ensure mask wearing and  social distancing moving forward.

These compliance orders and all other COVID-19 related compliance orders are posted online on the website of DBR – dbr.ri.gov.
