Rhode Island dusted with first snowfall of the season

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The upper north western corner of Rhode Island saw some significant snowfall Friday morning.

It started as heavy rain overnight and into the early hours of the morning, but as temperatures dropped, snowflakes began falling just before 8am.
Roads have remained clear for the most part, but are slippery. Drivers are advised to use caution.
