Rhode Island license plate design submissions released by Division of Motor Vehicles

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles released submissions for the license plate design contest on Friday.
The division received 940 entries during the contest and narrowed it down to five entries.
Gov. Dan McKee on Wednesday announced that Willem Van Lancker was named the winner of the contest. About 300,000 votes were cast.
The “RI State Plate Design Contest” ran for nearly a month, which started on Dec. 7.
