BOSTON (AP) — A Rhode Island man pleaded guilty on Tuesday in federal court in Boston to taking part with another man in five bank robberies in one week in 2018, including one that resulted in a high-speed police chase.

Dong Lee, 50, pleaded guilty to five counts of bank robbery, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Boston.

Lee and his accomplice robbed banks in Andover, Boston, Braintree, Avon and Brockton between Sept. 8 and Sept. 14 in 2018, prosecutors said.

Both suspects were arrested by Massachusetts State Police after a high-speed pursuit on Sept. 14, 2018.

Lee faces 20 years in prison at sentencing scheduled for Feb. 16.

Lee’s accomplice, Charles Lamont Wheeler, 46, pleaded guilty in March and faces sentencing on Wednesday.
