Rhode Island police make 59 DUI arrests during week of St. Patrick’s Day

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island DUI Task Force said they made more than 50 DUI arrests and issued over 400 speeding tickets this weekend.

The DUI Task Force said they began their patrol on March 10 and finished Saturday, March 18.

During that time, police said 59 people were arrested for driving under the influence, adding that they issued 433 speeding tickets to drivers throughout the region.

The Rhode Island DUI Task Force is made up of State Police officers and traffic officers from nearby departments.
