NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Senate will vote Tuesday on a resolution for a regional school district in Newport and Middletown.

Under this proposal, it is expected that the schools will remain the same, but the administration will be regionalized.

The measure would be on the ballot for voters in November if passed by the General Assembly.

A House committee will also hear the measure Tuesday.
