Rhode Island State Police implement additional measures and increased police presence
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island State Police Department released a statement in reaction to Wednesday’s storming of the Capitol building in Washington D.C.
Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety, Colonel James Manni, released the following statement:
“At present, the Rhode Island State Police is not aware of any organized protests or credible threats to security at the Rhode Island State House or elsewhere in our state. However, due to the events taking place in our nation’s capital, additional security measures are being implemented to include an increased State Police presence statewide.”
