Rhode Island State Police mourn retired K-9 Gump

SCITUATE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police are mourning the loss of retired K-9 Gump.

The agency announced his passing on social media on Tuesday.

“He assisted in many investigations and caught many fleeing suspects,” the agency wrote.

Gump worked alongside Sgt. Luke Brisson as a patrol and narcotics dog for a decade before he retired last year.

He was beloved by Brisson and his family.
