PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Commerce Corporation announced Tuesday a request for proposals for the Rhode Island Minority Business Accelerator Program’s Intermediary-Based Initiative to provide about $3 million to minority and women-owned businesses.

The program is included in the Fiscal Year 2023 Budget.

“Rhode Island continues to prioritize racial and ethnic diversity in business by launching this great initiative,” said Gov. Dan McKee. “It provides much-needed cash flow that will allow women- and minority-owned businesses to grow, contributing even more to Rhode Island’s already strong economy.”

Eligible uses of funds from requests for proposals include a range of services like business training and planning.

Proposals must be submitted to the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation by 2 p.m. on April 28.
