Rhode Islanders celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Newport parade

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Islanders joined the city of Newport in celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with their annual parade.
ABC6 News crews were on the corner of Mary Street where residents watched performers march by.
This is the second time the city has held the parade since the start of the pandemic.
Despite the wet weather, families still came out to enjoy the festivities.
The parade included bagpipes, marching bands, reenactment units, and a number of local, state, and regional organizations.
