Rhode Islanders Compete in the New England Track Championships, Hope’s Quashira McIntosh Wins Three Races
A number of Rhode Islanders competed in the New England High School Track and Field Championships at Bridewater State in Worcester.
Hope star Quashira McIntosh won both the 100 and 200 meter dash. Her 11.84 in the hundred broke her own Rhode Island state record. Quashira also anchored the 4 x 100 relay, leading the Blue Wave to victory.
LaSalle’s Jack Salisbury finished a close second in the 1600 meter run. The Mt. Pleasant boys finished second in the 4 x 100 meter relay. North Kingstown’s Paide Olausen was 5th in the Javelin. Teammate Maria Bolibruch finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. The LaSalle girls won the 4 x 800 relay.
