RI Bakery Being Sued Over Salmonella Outbreak

The bakery linked to a salmonella outbreak, is now being sued by the mother of a 16-year-old Rehoboth boy.

The mother is claiming that her son became sick after eating zeppolas from DeFusco's Bakery. The bakery has been closed since March 25th, as a result of the salmonella outbreak.

It's believed that DeFusco's is responsible for selling zeppolas that were stored in cardboard boxes, that previously held raw eggs. Those boxes tested positive for salmonella.

The Rhode Island Health Department reports that 56 people have reported becoming ill.
