RI Department of Health reports 253 new COVID-19 cases, 3 new fatalities since Friday


PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health has released the updated COVID-19 numbers since the last report on Friday.

RIDOH reports 253 new positive cases over the weekend, bringing the states total number of positive tests to 24,424.

Three more Rhode Islanders have died after contracting COVID-19 since Friday.

2,008 tests were taken in the prior day, with a 1.3% rate of positivity.

The death toll in Rhode Island is now 1,110.

There are currently 94 people hospitalized, eight are in ICU, and four on a ventilator.
