EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Folk Festival is set to return this summer after last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Some of the top local folk, acoustic, and Americana singer-songwriter acts will all be at Rose Larisa Park in East Providence on August 29.

The festival will have three different stages for music, and will also have food trucks and outdoor vendors.

This year will be the first time the event will have a third stage. The “Emerging Artists Stage” will make its debut, highlighting some of the top local up-and-coming singer-songwriters.

“I am so excited that we can hold this awesome festival again this year. All of us are so thirsty for live music, and this day is always a highlight of the summer. So many musicians and friends coming together to make a really fun day of music in the sun,” says Board President, performer and “Songbird Stage” host Allysen Callery.

The festival remains free to the public. However, there is a GoFundMe for those who would like to support the festival.
