RI Health Department Accepts Three Compassion Center Licenses
The Rhode Island Department of Health has announced that 3 out of 18 applicants for the state's first medical marijuana 'compassion centers' have been approved to apply for registration certificates.
The chosen centers are:
- Greenleaf Compassionate Care Center, Inc
- Summit Medical Compassion Center
- The Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center
This is just the beginning for the approved centers, however. Each much be inspected by Department of Health staff, as well as obtain a certificate of occupancy from the city or town it plans to be located.
Also, all of the staff, board members and volunteers of the proposed center must be registered with the Department of Health's medical marijuana program.
ABC6 Reporter Erin Logan has the details, and reactions from the communities that are going to host the compassion centers.
