RI House Passes Bill on Wind Farms in the State

The Rhode Island House has passed a bill, that gives the State Public Utilities Commission the authority to review power-purchase agreements with developers of a wind energy farm.

The proposed spot for a wind farm in Rhode Island, would be off of Block Island. The 56-15 vote early Thursday morning, puts the project back on track.

Meantime, among the items lawmakers still need to get to, casino gambling in Rhode Island. The Finance Committee has already endorsed a bill, which would let voters decide on expanding gambling in the state.

Other issues that still need to be addressed, the decriminalization of marijuana, the ethics reform bill, and an education funding plan.
