RI March of Dimes Chapter to Honor Roosevelt
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – The Rhode Island chapter of the March of Dimes is honoring the president and CEO of Tufts Health Plan.
The nonprofit is holding an event Wednesday morning at Women & Infants Hospital to name James Roosevelt Jr. as its 2012 “Citizen of the Year.” Roosevelt is the grandson of March of Dimes founder President Franklin Roosevelt.
The nonprofit says James Roosevelt supports its mission of working for stronger, healthier babies. It says a reception will be held in his honor in June.
The March of Dimes 2012 National Ambassador Family is also scheduled to attend the announcement. The Wittstruck family is from Seattle. The nonprofit says Keiran Wittstruck was born at 31 weeks and spent the first months of his life in the newborn intensive care unit battling multiple ailments.
