RI National Guard and Gateway Launch Assistance Hotline
CRANSTON, RI – Rhode Island National Guard, in collaboration with Gateway Healthcare, launched the Veteran & Military Assist 24-hour hotline on Tuesday.
The free hotline: 1-877-509-4321, is open to all branches of the military, past and present. It will connect servicemembers and veterans with various resources available across the state.
Before this hotline, Rhode Island had limited ability to get veterans and families in touch with resources that would they would benefit from. This hotline will provide access to resources for all Rhode Island's military families' needs, big or small.
“This is an outstanding resource for our Soldiers and Airmen and their families,” said Major General Robert T. Bray, Adjutant General and Commander of the Rhode Island National Guard. “All military and veterans will greatly benefit from this resource.”
“We understand that military duties can often leave families overwhelmed and unsure where to turn to for resources,” said Richard Leclerc, President of Gateway Healthcare. “This important initiative allows Gateway to extend its core clinical competencies while collaborating with other community resources throughout Rhode Island.”
The free, and completely confidential, hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
A comprehensive communications campaign has been launched by the Rhode Island National Guard and Gateway Healthcare to inform the Rhode Island military families of this free service for them.
