RI reports 284 cases of COVID-19, 7 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Health officials in Rhode Island reported 284 new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday.

The state reported seven additional fatalities, bringing Rhode Island’s death toll to 2,556.

Of the 11,764 COVID-19 tests administered on Monday, the state collected a 2.4% positivity rate.

The Department of Health said there are currently 145 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus.

21 of these patients are in the ICU and 16 are on a ventilator.

Additionally, 94,197 Rhode Islanders have been fully immunized for the virus.
