RI State Police investigate a fatal crash in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – Rhode Island State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Warwick on Friday night.

Police say troopers from the Wickford Barracks responded to a report of a car accident in Warwick on I-95, just south of Cowesett Road around 7:40 p.m.  When troopers arrived, they found a 2017 Kia Sportage west of I-95, that had hit multiple trees.

The driver of the car was identified as 41-year-old Ravi Rahul of Exeter, Rhode Island. Rahul was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, but died as a result of his injuries from the crash.

Police say that speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors in this crash.

Troopers from the State Police Wickford Barracks and the State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating the crash.
