RI State Police respond to weather related accidents on Monday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – State Police in Rhode Island have been urging drivers to stay off the roads as much as possible on Monday.

State troopers said they have investigated 18 weather related accidents as of 7:30 p.m.  According to State Police, none of these crashes have resulted in serious injuries.

Additionally, 29 drivers have needed assistance from state troopers and 44 tractor-trailer drivers were pulled over for failing to stay off of the roads.

Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo implemented a tractor trailer ban on all state roadways, which went into effect on Monday at 5 a.m.
