RI Woman Hit by Car Last Month Dies of Injuries
WOONSOCKET, R.I. (AP) – A 46-year-old Woonsocket woman has died of injuries suffered more than a month ago when she was struck by an alleged hit-and-run driver.
Police say Suzanne Potter's death earlier this week will result in more serious charges being lodged against 41-year-old Peter Major, of Pawtucket, who police say was drunk when he struck in the
early morning hours of July 1. Potter was riding a bicycle near her home at the time.
Additional charges will be lodged against Major. He's currently charged with drunken driving and
leaving the scene of an accident resulting in bodily injury.
Potter's family says she had remains hospitalized since the crash, in and out of consciousness but unable to speak.
