RIAC Announces Master Plan Update for T.F. Green
By News Staff
WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Airport Corporation announced plans Wednesday to update the Master Plan for T.F. Green Airport as required by the Federal Aviation Administration.
RIAC said the$1.3 Million project will focus on defining new development plans to prepare for consumer trends and expectations for the next 20 years.
The FAA provides federal funding to airports based on their master plans. T.F. Green’s plan was last updated in 2002.
“By their nature, master plans strive to balance the anticipated pace of airport growth and the cost-effectiveness of aviation demand”, said a RIAC spokesperson. “Importantly, Master Plans also provide the airport with the necessary tools to react to uncertainties by examining key trends in the aviation industry, technology improvements and regional economic development variables.”
RIAC will host a series of open houses and public workshops for community input and participation, and stakeholder outreach.
A webpage for the Master Plan is expected to launch Friday, April 5th. To provide commentary and suggestions for the Airport Corporation, visit www.pvdairport.com.
