RIDOH announces 284 new positive COVID-19 cases; 5 fatalities
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health announced 284 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The department also announced five new fatalities from the virus.
According to the announcement, there were 10,880 tests performed, giving the state a 2.6 percent positivity.
A statement from RIDOH spokesman Joseph Wendelkin said the numbers were delayed on Wednesday “because the result dates for the tests submitted from one laboratory needed to be adjusted.”
The full data set is expected to be posted on the department’s website later today, Wendelkin said.
