PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Health recommended closing two beaches to swimmers on Thursday.

Goddard Park Beach in Warwick and Peabody’s Beach in Middletown were recommended closed because of high bacteria levels.

Officials said they will continue to monitor the bacteria levels and water quality through Labor Day.
