RIDOH reports 139 new cases of COVID-19, 2 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 139 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday.

Health officials said out of the 11,661 tests administered on Thursday, the state collected a 1.2% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported two additional deaths, bringing the state’s total to 2,700.

There are currently 92 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 20 of these patients are in the ICU while 14 are on a ventilator.
Since mid-December, 603,454 Rhode Islanders have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state reported 488,539 Rhode Islanders have been fully immunized.

The total amount of doses administered sits at 1,052,196.
