RIDOH reports 149 new cases of COVID-19, 2 additional deaths


PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 149 new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday.

Health officials said out of the 11,896 tests administered on Wednesday, the state collected a 1.3%% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported two additional deaths, bringing the state’s total to 2,698.

There are currently 96 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 22 of these patients are in the ICU while 15 are on a ventilator.
Since mid-December, 599,609 Rhode Islanders have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state reported 478,884 Rhode Islanders have been fully immunized.

The total amount of doses administered sits at 1,038,857.
