RIDOH reports 2,334 new COVID-19 cases, 16 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 2,334 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.

Health officials said out of the 18,813 tests administered the state collected a 12.4% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported 16 additional deaths, bringing the state’s total to 3,240.

There are currently 505 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 45 of these patients are in the ICU while 33 are on a ventilator.
