RIDOH reports 314 new cases of COVID-19, 6 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 314 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday.

Health officials said out of the 16,462 tests administered on Thursday, the state collected a 1.9% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported six additional deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,630.

There are currently 136 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 13 of these patients are in the ICU while nine are on a ventilator.

Since mid-December, 354,736 Rhode Islanders have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state reported 237,843 Rhode Islanders have been fully immunized.

The total amount of doses administered sits at 577,976.
