RIDOH reports 417 new cases of COVID-19, one additional death

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 417 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday.

Health officials said out of the 20,586 tests administered on Thursday, the state collected a 2% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported one additional death, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,647.

There are currently 133 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 28 of these patients are in the ICU while 24 are on a ventilator.

Since mid-December, 455,918 Rhode Islanders have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state reported 320,812 Rhode Islanders have been fully immunized.

The total amount of doses administered sits at 739,568.
