RIDOH reports 423 new cases of COVID-19, two additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 423 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday.

Health officials said out of the 17,616 tests administered on Thursday, the state collected a 2.4% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported one additional death, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,638.

There are currently 145 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 33 of these patients are in the ICU while 23 are on a ventilator.

Since mid-December, 402,611 Rhode Islanders have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state reported 281,056 Rhode Islanders have been fully immunized.

The total amount of doses administered sits at 659,529.
