RIDOH reports 428 new cases of COVID-19, four additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The Rhode Island Department of Health reported 428 new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday.

Health officials said out of the 22,673 tests administered on Wednesday, the state collected a 1.9% positivity rate.

Rhode Island reported four additional deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,646.

There are currently 138 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. Data shows that 30 of these patients are in the ICU while 24 are on a ventilator.

Since mid-December, 448,768 Rhode Islanders have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The state reported 316,983 Rhode Islanders have been fully immunized.

The total amount of doses administered sits at 729,096.
