RIDOH reports 520 new cases of coronavirus, 9 deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health released the state’s latest coronavirus data on Wednesday.

The state reported 520 new cases of COVID-19.  Out of the 16,424 tests administered on Tuesday, the positivity rate was 3.2%.

This is the lowest positivity rate Rhode Island has seen since October.

RIDOH reported 9 coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday, marking the state’s death toll at 2,135.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 334 Rhode Islanders are hospitalized.

Of those hospitalized, 50 patients are in the ICU while 35 are on a ventilator.

So far, 19,683 Rhode Islanders are fully vaccinated.
