RIDOH reports 661 new cases of COVID-19, 23 additional fatalities

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The Rhode Island Department of Health announced the most recent COVID-19 data for the state on Tuesday.

Out of the 11,580 tests taken on Monday, RIDOH reported 661 new positive cases of the virus.

Additionally, a positivity rate of 5.7% was reported.

The state reported 23 additional deaths.

There are currently 402 Rhode Islanders hospitalized for the virus. 53 people are in the ICU and 34 are on a ventilator.

The total number of fatalities in Rhode Island now stands at 1,970.

According to RIDOH, there have been 36,649 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered thus far.
