RIDOH reports 879 new cases of coronavirus, 26 additional deaths

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Health officials in Rhode Island released the state’s latest coronavirus numbers on Wednesday.

The Rhode Island Department of Health announced 879 new positive cases of the virus and 26 new deaths.

RIDOH reported a 5.1% positivity rate on Tuesday. Rhode Island’s death toll now stands at 1,704.

There are 442 Rhode Islanders are currently hospitalized for COVID-19.  RIDOH reported 49 of those hospitalized are in the ICU, and 35 are on a ventilator.
