Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey past accidents

By Dana Griffin

In 2004, in St. Paul Minnesota, a Ringling Bros. aerial performer was killed after her chiffon scarf gave way while she was twirling 30–feet in the air.

According to the Providence Journal, back in 1998 when the dunk was called the Providence Civic Center, a Ringling Bros. performer broke her ankle while doing a human cannonball.

In 1993, a trainer was knocked over and stepped on by an elephant in Williston, Florida.

General manager, Steven Payne said all equipment used by performers is inspected carefully and that the health and safety of performers and guests are taken seriously.

Providence public safety commissioner Steven Paré say Ringling Bros. was responsible for the setup and rigging of today’s show.
