RIPTA: 9 routes detoured due to snow

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is detouring nine routes Friday morning, February 13th, due to unplowed secondary roads.

Routes 1, 3, 6, 18, 27, 29, 58, 87, and 92 are on currently on detour.

RIPTA will continue to restore service on those routes as conditions allow and will also advise riders of any other detours due to the storm. Passengers are encouraged to check www.RIPTA.com for updates throughout the day.

The following routes are on detour:

Route 1 (Eddy St):
Northbound trips after RI Hospital will travel to Eddy Street, continuing on Eddy Street to Dorrance Street to Kennedy Plaza; trips will not use Richmond Street.

Northbound trips from the East Side Tunnel will travel the regular route to Waterman Street, left onto Hope Street and then resume regular route. Trips will not use Brook Street.

Southbound trips will travel the regular route to Hope Street, continue on Hope Street, right onto Angell Street, left onto Thayer Street and then resume regular route. Trips will not use Thayer Street.

Route 3 (Warwick Avenue):
Inbound trips after RI Hospital will travel to Eddy Street, continuing on Eddy Street to Dorrance Street to Kennedy Plaza; trips will not use Richmond Street.

Route 6 (Prairie Avenue):
No service to CCRI Providence campus, buses will stay on Prairie Avenue.

Route 18 (Union Ave):
Trips will not service Chapin Avenue and Ellery Street.

Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Cranston Street, stay on Cranston Street, right onto the Rte. 10 on-ramp, stay right at the Union Avenue Exit, left onto Union Avenue and then resume regular route. REVERSE on Inbound.

Route 27 (Broadway/Manton):
Trips will not service Hillcrest Village Apartments.

Route 29 (Kent County):
Trips will not service Phenix Hotel; trips will travel the regular route to right on Main Street, right onto Pleasant Street, left onto Highland Street, left onto Main Street and then resume regular route.

Route 58 (Mineral Spring/North Prov):
Trips to Georgiaville Manor are by request ONLY.

Route 87 (Fairmount/Walnut Hill):
Trips will not service Fairmount Street and Morin Heights.

Inbound and Outbound trips will use Cass Avenue.

Route 92 (RI College/ Federal Hill/East Side):
Westbound trips from Kennedy Plaza will travel the regular route to Eagle Street, right onto Eagle Street, left onto Valley Street, right onto Atwells Avenue, and then resume regular route.

Eastbound rips from Kennedy Plaza will travel the regular route to Wickenden Street, left onto Gano Street, right onto Pitman Street and then resume regular route. Trips will not travel on Ives Street.

Westbound trips from East Side Market Place will travel the regular route to left onto Pitman Street, left onto Gano Street, right onto Wickenden Street and then resume regular route. Trips will not travel on Ives Street.
