RIPTA bus runs over man’s foot in wheelchair

Cranston, R.I. A man in a wheelchair had his foot accidentally run over by a RIPTA bus as he slipped while waiting for the bus to pick him up.

The accident occurred at 7:40 pm with the back right tire of the bus running over the man’s left foot.  He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.  Weather was cited as a contributing factor to the accident.

Police have not released the name of the victim.
