RIPTA to detour 21 routes ahead of breast cancer walk in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority said Wednesday that it will detour some routes ahead of a breast cancer walk in downtown Providence this weekend.

The Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16.

The 21 routes listed on RIPTA’s website will be detoured from the first trip of the day until 1:30 p.m.

During this time, RIPTA said Memorial Boulevard will be closed from Steeple to South Water streets.
