Road closed, 1 hospitalized after Warwick crash

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Police Department said they closed a stretch of road after one person was injured in a car accident.

According to police, a call came in just before 1:00 p.m. Friday where a third-party caller reported a two car accident.

Police said one person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries.

No other injuries were reported by authorities.

The identity of the victim and the cause of the crash were not immediately released.

In a post to social media, the department asked commuters to avoid the area between 600 Sandy Ln. and Strawberry Field Road Friday morning.

The section of road has since reopened.
