Roger Williams University requiring students to be vaccinating for in-person learning
BRISTOL, R.I (WLNE) – Roger Williams University announced that students returning for in-person classes will require a vaccination.
The school did acknowledge that some students will have medical and religious exemptions to the vaccinations.
Roger Williams will continue to urge faculty and staff to be immunized at the earliest opportunity.
The president of the university said they will continue to work with the Rhode Island Department of Health for proper guidance and will hold a zoom conference for those with questions about the fall semester in the coming weeks.
Recently, the university confirmed that an off-campus party in Bristol was linked to a spike in cases.
40 students were at the party, and it was linked to 1/3 of the recent uptick.
