Roger Williams Zoo welcomes baby Franklin to the world

A reason to give thanks this year.

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – Roger Williams Zoo introduced a baby tamandua on Thanksgiving.

The tamandua is a genus of anteater found throughout much of South America.

Baby Franklin, is born to mom Carina, and named in memory of his dad Frankie.

He spent his first couple of weeks under daily monitoring and extra supplemental feedings.

Roger Williams says Frankie and his mother are bonding off exhibit, and he continues to gain strength.

Roger Williams gives thanks to their staff, donors, sponsors, and supporters and thanks to everybody for being a part of their growing family.
