Romney sweeps five primary elections

Mitt Romney has been named the winner in the Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, and New York primary elections.

Romney started the day with 698 delegates, which is about 400 short of clinching the republican presidential nomination. 209 delegates were up for grabs Tuesday. As of the writing of this article, he has 739 delegates out of the 1,144 needed to clinch the republican presidential nomination.
