Salty Brine Beach parking lot closed Saturday for Blessing of the Fleet

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management said that the parking lot of Salty Brine State Beach will be temporarily closed Saturday for the Narragansett Lions Club’s 51st annual Blessing of the Fleet celebration.

The lot will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The beach itself will remain open.

The DEM said the Blessing of the Fleet is a multi-day celebration that includes a road race, a parade of boats, food, and live music.

The boat parade features a parade of decorated commercial and recreational watercraft.
