CANTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Salvation Army put out a plea for help Tuesday and revealed this year’s donations have fallen far below expectation.

Officials said donations are down nearly 20% in half their locations compared to last year.

The money is used to provide crucial help to hundreds of thousands of Massachusetts residents during the holiday season.

There’s only one week left in their 2018 Red Kettle campaign.

This year, their goal is $3.5 million.

To donate, head to their website for a list of donation sites.
