A male harp seal rescued by Mystic Aquarium was released into the ocean Wednesday morning.

Aquarium officials released the seal, estimated to be between one and two years old, into the water of Charlestown's Beachway State Beach.

The seal, named Doppler, was rescued on Moonstone Beach in South Kingstown on March 28. He was moderately dehydrated, in “thin” condition, and had a puncture wound on his flipper. He was treated by the aquarium and recovered well.
