Scattered showers move out later this afternoon

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) –Scattered showers lingering through the day until about 4pm. After, we should start to get breaks of sunshine.

Franklin is not going to make contact with the US, but it will bring some rough surf and gusty winds and rough surf that will be felt all the way along the east coast. For our area, expect moderate rip currents at our beaches today, tomorrow, and possibly Friday.

Hurricane Idalia makes landfall in Keaton Beach, Florida, at 7:45am. National Hurricane Center said it had maximum sustained wind speeds of 125mph and is moving north northeast at 18mph.

New England has a High pressure system moving in tomorrow and that sets us up for a beautiful holiday weekend.
