Seafood company issues recall on tuna

Tri-Union Seafoods LLC is voluntarily recalling up to 107,280 cans of Chicken of the Sea brand Tuna.

The tuna is 5 oz. canned chunk light tuna in oil, and 5 oz. canned chunk light tuna in water.

According to the FDA, this product is being recalled because it may have been under cooked due to an equipment malfunction.

The malfunction of the equipment was discovered during a routine inspection.

Consuming the recalled tuna could lead to life-threatening illnesses, but there has been no reported incidents to date.

The UPC code, ‘Best By’ date, and lot codes are used to determine the products involved.
