Search for missing kayaker in Fairhaven

The search is on for a missing kayaker in Fairhaven.

The U.S. Coast Guard says 21-year-old Dana Dourdeville from Marion left to go duck hunting around 2 pm Tuesday afternoon and never returned home.  The man's family told Fairhaven Police he brought his kayak hunting. His car was later found in a lot at the West Island town beach around 7 pm. Tuesday.  There was no sign of Dourdeville or his kayak.

The Fairhaven Police Dept., Fire Dept., Harbormaster, State Police Air Branch, New Bedford Police Marine Unit and U.S. Coast Guard are involved in the search.

Dourdeville is believed to be in a 9 foot red kayak.  He is described as a thin white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with brown hair.  He was last seen wearing brown sweatpants and a red life jacket.
