Search underway for rare model Mercedes-Benz stolen from Johnston driveway

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Johnston police are looking for help from the public in finding a luxury vehicle that was stolen out of a resident’s driveway.

Police said in a social media post Tuesday that a rare model, two-door 2006 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG was taken from a house on Capri Drive at about 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 6.

The Mercedes, which has been heavily tinted, has had its plates changed several times.

Police said it has been used in several thefts in Pawtucket.
